For those who own an iPad, they may be accustomed to using the iPad’s split screen mode to run two apps side by side. The good news is that you can easily toggle this feature on and off as you please. In fact, you can even turn it off completely by going to Settings. However, if you don’t want to use it all the time, you can go to the “General” section of Settings to remove all multitasking functions. Once you’ve done that, you can close the windows and get back to doing what you love.
When you’re ready to start up a new session of your favorite app, the iPad’s multitasking features are a snap to navigate. Just launch the Settings app, and select the Multitasking and Dock option from the top menu. Next, select the Allow Multiple Apps button. If you don’t want to use the feature, tap the Off button next to the Allow Multiple Apps option.

You can also try out the Split View feature. This is a handy way to split up your screen. With the Split View mode, you have two apps on screen, each with a unique window. To switch between the two, just swipe left or right along the edges of the smaller window. At this point, the larger window becomes the main window.
You can also try out Slide Over. With this feature, you can convert an app into a small, floating window. Using the slider is a bit of a gimmick, but it is worth a try for the ability to switch between apps. Of course, not all apps are compatible with this functionality, so you’ll have to be a bit careful about which ones you choose.
One of the more interesting features of the iPad is the “multitasking” functionality. While this isn’t as convenient as it used to be, you can still enjoy a bit of multitasking with the help of the Home Screen & Dock option in the settings. It’s a good idea to keep a tab open on the Dock in case you want to switch between apps while you’re out and about.

Aside from the Multitasking and Dock functions, you can also make use of the Slide Over feature to convert your favorite apps into small windows. These small windows can be positioned anywhere on the screen. Some apps, like the Notes app, can be displayed as a floating pane so you can switch between them seamlessly. Floating windows can be closed, too, so you don’t have to worry about forgetting to switch back to the major window.
You can learn a lot about how to use your iPad to its fullest potential by learning how to use its multitasking capabilities. Whether you are trying to work on a report while watching a movie, or simply want to play a game of Tetris, the iPad’s multitasking options will be a valuable asset to your daily productivity.
